The course would focus on the conduct of Aquatic Risk Assessment and Hazard Mapping for specific venue of events not limited to sporting event, lifesaving and open water competition, aquatic recreational activities to include swimming, surfing, boating and fishing, organized games and activities, aquatic training including sub-aqua and power crafts, personal watercraft and waterskiing, sporting sailing or regattas. Understanding sources of risk like the human, environmental, external and administrative factor would be included along with the actual practice on establishing patrol zones, buffer zones and lifeguard services protocols including the closing of aquatic venue would be experienced.

I. Conduct Aquatic Risk Assessment and Hazard Mapping
- Coordinate with clients or aquatic event organizer about event plans.
- Identify, rate, analyze and prioritize risk and hazards associated with aquatic events.
- Discuss measures to minimize sources of risk and hazards to event organizers and clients.
- Control hazards in the area by putting signage or advise event organizer/clients to a safer activity venue, where necessary.

II. Establish Patrol Zones and Lifeguard Services
- Define specific patrolling methods at patrol zones per ILS Coastal Public Safety Guidelines.
- Establish parameters for lifeguard operation per ILS Coastal Public Safety Guidelines.
- Sign-up patrol service agreement and standard operating procedures with event/organizers and resort owners per ILS Coastal Public Safety Guidelines.
- Prepare patrol flags in compliance with ISO20712-1-2008, ISO20712-2-2008 on Water Safety signs and Beach Safety Flags
- Prepare needed lifesaving equipment in the designated swim or activity area.
- Hoist patrol flags based on acceptable lifeguard patrol and zoning protocols in compliance with ISO20712-1-2008, ISO20712-2-2008 on Water Safety signs and Beach Safety Flags
- Establish patrolled areas and safety buffer zones per ILS Coastal Public Safety Guidelines.
- Recommend closing of aquatic venue to event organizer should prevailing situation endanger public safety.
