The course will focus on essential task of a lifeguard to recognize, respond and work as a team in undertaking rescue and emergency care using a range of lifesaving equipment and techniques. Course outcome aims at developing a culture among lifeguards in establishing effective and efficient teamwork in an emergency from clear and concise communication practices and from a planned and practiced response procedures to include knowing event detailed requirements by facility users for lifeguard service to align preparations, anticipate manpower ratio and plan out event specific Emergency Action Plan (EAP).

II. Perform aquatic emergency procedures
- Understand the aquatic venue Emergency Action Plan (EAP) Flowchart.
- Rehearse the established aquatic emergency procedures.
- Implement crowd control with assistance from bystanders
- Call for emergency services following emergency telephone procedure per ILS standard in Lifeguarding Handbook.
- Record emergency incident following legal response procedures per ILS standard in Lifeguarding Handbook.

- Demonstrate contact and non-contact rescue per ILS standard in Lifeguarding Handbook.
- Perform carries and supports in open water per ILS standard in Public Safety and Aquatic Rescue Handbook.
- Manage spinal injury in open water per ILS standard in Public Safety and Aquatic Rescue Handbook.
- Demonstrate mass rescue per ILS standard in Public Safety and Aquatic Rescue Handbook.
